It debuted as a DJ mix edition on August 28, 2020, and the regular edition on September 11 of the same year. Future Nostalgia (2020), Lipa’s second studio album, had tracks that were remixed for the album by a variety of DJs and producers, including Masters at Work, Larry Heard, Mark Ronson, and Stuart Price. Primarily a house, pop, and soul record, Club Future Nostalgia also features influences from Baltimore clubs, dance, disco, drum and bass, and piano house. Guest appearances are included from Missy Elliott, Jamiroquai, Madonna and Gwen Stefani and Blackpink. Music critics gave the album generally positive reviews, with many applauding its danceability and blending of subgenres; nonetheless, many thought it was better than the parent album. It was listed on year-end lists that the Los Angeles Times, Variety, and Billboard all published. The album was a commercial success, peaking at number 28 on the US Billboard 200 and number 13 on the Canadian Albums Chart. It also became the first entry for both Lipa and the Blessed Madonna on the US Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart, where it peaked at number 1.

Warner Records released English-Albanian singer Dua Lipa’s second studio album, Future Nostalgia, on March 27, 2020. Inspired by the dance-pop and electronic music of her youth, Lipa brought in writers and producers like Jeff Bhasker, Ian Kirkpatrick, Stuart Price, the Monsters & Strangerz, and Koz to create a “nostalgic” pop and disco record. Six singles were released from the album, and the title track was also used as a promotional single. As the album’s lead single, “Don’t Start Now” was released and quickly became popular both critically and commercially, peaking at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart. The UK top-ten hits “Physical” and “Break My Heart” are among the other singles. Another is a remix of “Levitating” with DaBaby, which peaked at number two in the US and number five in the UK before topping the 2021 Hot 100 chart. The album’s original release date of April 3, 2020 was pushed forward after it was discovered to have leaked in its entirety two weeks earlier. After three postponements owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, Lipa started the Future Nostalgia Tour in February 2022 to promote the album.
